Connecting Your Accounts
How to connect LinkedIn and Instagram to Rheos so you can publish content directly from the dashboard.
Rheos publishes content directly to your social media accounts. To get started, you need to connect at least one account. The process takes less than a minute for each platform.

Supported platforms
Rheos currently supports three types of social media connections:
- LinkedIn personal profile -- Post to your own LinkedIn feed.
- LinkedIn business page -- Post to a company or organisation page you manage.
- Instagram -- Post to an Instagram Business or Creator account.
Which plans support which platforms
Not all platforms are available on every plan.
Free and Personal plans can connect a LinkedIn personal profile only.
Business plan adds LinkedIn business pages and Instagram.
Team plan includes all platforms, plus shared access for up to 5 team members.
If you are on a Free or Personal plan and need Instagram or LinkedIn business page access, you can upgrade from Settings > Billing. See Plans & Billing for a full comparison.
How to connect a platform
The process is the same for each platform:
- Go to Settings > Connected Accounts.
- Find the platform you want to connect and click Connect.
- You will be redirected to the platform's login page. Sign in and authorise Rheos to post on your behalf.
- Once authorised, you will be returned to Rheos and the account will show as connected.
That is it. You only need to do this once per account.
Connecting LinkedIn
When you click Connect for LinkedIn, you will be asked to sign in to your LinkedIn account and grant Rheos permission to post. If you manage a business page, you can select it during the authorisation step.
Connecting Instagram
Instagram requires a Business or Creator account. If your Instagram account is set to personal, you will need to switch it to a Business or Creator account in the Instagram app first.
When you click Connect, you will be redirected to Instagram to log in and authorise Rheos. Once complete, your account appears in your connected accounts list.
Disconnecting an account
If you want to remove a connected account:
- Go to Settings > Connected Accounts.
- Click Disconnect next to the account you want to remove.
The account will be removed immediately. You can reconnect it at any time by following the connection steps again.
What happens to scheduled posts if you disconnect
If you disconnect an account that has scheduled posts waiting to go out, those posts will fail to publish when their scheduled time arrives. The posts themselves are not deleted -- they will remain in your Posts page with a failed status.
Before disconnecting, check your Calendar for any upcoming scheduled posts and either publish them early or reschedule them to a different account.
Troubleshooting connection issues
If you are having trouble connecting an account, try these steps:
- Make sure you are logged into the right account. The authorisation page will connect whichever account you are currently signed into on that platform.
- Check your account type. Instagram requires a Business or Creator account. Personal accounts cannot be connected.
- Clear your browser cookies for the platform and try again. Sometimes stale login sessions cause issues.
- Re-authorise the connection. If a previously working connection stops working, disconnect it and connect it again. Tokens can expire over time.
If none of these steps help, visit our Troubleshooting page for more guidance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can I not connect Instagram?
There are two common reasons. First, check that your Instagram account is set to Business or Creator mode -- personal accounts are not supported. Second, make sure your Rheos plan includes Instagram access. Instagram is available on the Business and Team plans only.
Can I connect multiple LinkedIn profiles?
You can connect one LinkedIn personal profile and one LinkedIn business page. If you need to manage multiple business pages, each one needs to be connected separately from Settings > Connected Accounts.
Do I need to reconnect my accounts regularly?
Normally, no. Connections stay active once set up. In rare cases, a platform may revoke access (for example, if you change your password). If this happens, simply disconnect and reconnect the account.
