When to use text posts
Text posts work best for:
- Quick updates and announcements.
- Asking your audience a question.
- Sharing tips, advice, or industry insights.
- Personal stories that humanise your brand.
- Calls to action that do not need a visual.
Creating a text post
- Go to Create and select Text Post.
- Enter a brief description of what you want to say. For example: "Share a Monday motivation tip for freelancers."
- Rheos generates multiple caption options using your brand's tone of voice.
- Pick the option you like best, or ask for more variations.
AI caption generation and your profile
Rheos uses your profile settings to shape every caption it writes. Your tone of voice, target audience, and key themes all influence the output. If you have set your tone to "friendly but professional," your captions will sound different from someone who has set theirs to "bold and direct."
This means the more complete your profile, the better your generated captions will be from the start.
Choosing your post length
Rheos lets you choose between different post lengths:
- Short -- One to two sentences. Punchy and to the point. Great for quick announcements or bold statements.
- Medium -- A short paragraph. Enough space to make a point and include a call to action.
- Long -- Multiple paragraphs. Ideal for storytelling, detailed tips, or thought leadership pieces.
The right length depends on your platform and audience. Instagram captions tend to perform well at short to medium length. LinkedIn audiences are more receptive to longer, detailed posts.
Platform-specific formatting
Rheos adapts your text for each platform when you publish:
- LinkedIn -- Supports longer-form content with line breaks. Rheos formats your post for readability on the LinkedIn feed.
- Instagram -- Captions appear below your profile name. Rheos keeps the first line punchy since that is what people see before tapping "more."
If you are publishing to both platforms at once, Rheos can adjust the formatting for each one automatically.
Hashtags
Rheos automatically suggests relevant hashtags based on your post topic and industry. You can:
- Accept the suggestions as they are.
- Remove hashtags you do not want by clicking the X next to each one.
- Add your own by typing in the hashtag field.
A good rule of thumb is 3 to 5 hashtags for LinkedIn and up to 15 for Instagram. Rheos adjusts its suggestions based on which platforms you are posting to.
Editing and revising your caption
After selecting a generated caption, you have several ways to refine it:
- Edit directly -- Click anywhere in the text to make changes manually.
- Rewrite -- Use the Rewrite button to ask the AI to adjust the tone, shorten the text, or emphasise a different angle.
- Paste your own text -- Copy and paste your own writing if you prefer to write manually. Rheos can still refine it to match your brand tone if you ask.
You can go back and forth between editing and AI rewrites as many times as you need. There is no limit on revisions.
Credits and pricing
Text posts do not use any credits. You can create, edit, and publish as many text posts as your plan's weekly post limit allows. This makes text posts a great way to stay active on social media without using up your credit allowance.
- Free -- 2 posts per week.
- Personal -- 5 posts per week.
- Business -- 20 posts per week.
- Team -- Unlimited posts.
Tips for better text posts
- Start with a hook. The first line is what people see before they tap "read more." Make it count.
- Include a call to action. Tell your audience what to do next: comment, share, visit your website, or save the post.
- Be conversational. Social media rewards posts that sound like a person, not a press release.
- Test different lengths. Try a mix of short and long posts to see what resonates with your audience.
